Hi, I’m Patrick Scholz
This isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of what I believe in. I am here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality, care and perfection.
About Me
I’m a photographer at heart. Over the past several years I’ve dedicated myself to preserving my grandfather’s photographic archive—archiving, scanning, and restoring small-, medium-, and large-format negatives, including fragile glass plates. That work has deepened my expertise in photo research, caption writing, metadata creation, and copyright management for historical imagery.
I continue to pursue my own photography, primarily working in medium format—both digital and film—exploring portrait, street, and nature subjects with the same care and attention I bring to archival work.

My Approach
My photographic approach is rooted in deliberate composition, meticulous attention to tonal detail, and a measured balance between technical precision and creative intuition; I choose the Hasselblad X2D 100MP because its exceptional dynamic range, color fidelity, and high-resolution sensor capture the subtle textures and nuanced gradients that define my subjects, while its ergonomic design and reliable performance let me focus on framing and moment rather than equipment. I pair the X2D with Profoto lighting because Profoto’s consistent, sculptable light sources and robust modifiers allow me to shape light with predictability and control—producing clean highlights, deep yet controlled shadows, and precise contrast that complement the camera’s capability. Together they form a dependable toolkit that elevates image fidelity and repeatability, enabling me to realize a clear visual intent whether working in studio or on location.
What sets me apart isn’t just my process—it’s the intention behind it. I take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Simple ideas + Lasting Impact
I focus on distilling each image down to a single simple idea and then executing that idea with meticulous attention to craft. Rather than chasing complexity or effects, I concentrate on composition, light, timing, and the decisive moment, refining every technical and aesthetic detail until the concept reads clearly and powerfully. This discipline—choosing restraint over excess, clarity over clutter—allows the subject to breathe and the viewer to connect instantly. By perfecting fundamentals and repeating small, deliberate choices, I transform straightforward concepts into images that feel inevitable and precise.
